Phoinissa, 20 years old- still missing
20 year old girl named Phoinissa has been missing since 1 July, 2019. She was last seen in a surveillance video taken at Ma’at Egyptian Museum.
The police investigation is ongoing but they have neither traced Phoinissa nor and lead on the suspicious man visible in the video clip. Missing girl's family is still awaiting word on her whereabouts.
Phoinissa is 5’ 5’’ tall, weighs 105 lbs, with dark black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black shirt and khaki pants. Anyone with information on Phoinissa should contact the New Cairo Sheriff department.
New Cairo’s forest being cut down twice as fast
Recently, it was announced that New Cairo Construction Ltd. will cut 3,500 trees to widen four roads in Muizz area. This decision is a disturbing trend as nearly 25,000 trees have been felled in the past three years. Besides, another 20,000 trees may be cut for road construction on Saliba Road.
The diminishing green cover in New Cairo is leading to many implications — increased pollution, lack of protection from heat as well as water scarcity for the residents. Brace yourself because the future prediction of New Cairo as a living nightmare is becoming true.
No more history and cultural teachings
After long discussions and debates over the sensitive topic of elimination of religious text from school curriculum, the government has finally decided to put a ban on religious teachings in schools.

They strongly believe that such teachings are not advantageous for the students and they should rather channel their time and energy in productive subjects like Science and Mathematics. The community is not entirely happy with this decision but unfortunately they are forced to obey the rules and thus they are silently tolerating this change.
